The Cape Elizabeth School Department is accepting donations of old phones (iPhone5 or higher, and any other non-iPhone models, 2-3 years old)

Hello Families and Community of Cape Elizabeth,
  • Have you recently upgraded to a new phone?
  • Are you planning on upgrading in the near future?
  • Not sure what to do with your old device?
We have the solution for you! The Cape Elizabeth School Department is leading the way in 21st-century education through Virtual Reality. [see related news] Your old phones could allow a kindergarten student to come face to face with a shark (virtually of course), a 7th-grade student to climb the steps of Machu Picchu, and a high school student to the fields of Gettysburg.

There are some new and exciting things happening in the world of technology. Virtual Reality has become an incredible educational tool, and we are just tapping into its usefulness at the elementary level. At this time we have six Google Cardboard headsets. Already this year we have explored many United States National Parks, as well as the U.S. symbols. In health we are planning to use Google Expeditions to bring students into the human brain and skeletal system through Virtual Reality.

This is where you come in. The Cape Elizabeth School Department is accepting donations of old phones (iPhone5 or higher, and any other non-iPhone models, 2-3 years old).
